Message: I am a Marine reservist for the 4th tank Btn. 4th Marine division, H&S Co. I am a tank mechanic. I have also been a long time WWII collector and re-enactor. When my unit issued me my dark blue mechanics cover-alls, they were too small, and short. They were hard to move in, very hot, and it was ridiculous! I couldn't reach anything in the tank, or even blouse my boots. The supply chief had no idea when knew ones would come in. (We aren't funded much) So, I turned to WWIIImpressions. I ordered their U.S.M.C. HBT Mechanics cover-alls. They feel great, fit great, look sharp, are of strong stitching and fabric, and have my Corps' E.G.A. on the pocket. My NCO's and one of my C.O.s commented on the U.S.M.C. metal buttons, and were pleased on how motivated I looked. The smell of the new fabric is great. Its like the fabric mill was put on pause, and WWIIImpressions just turned it back on. Its ridiculous to note they reproduced the smell! Its great! Not only are they exact reproductions of the originals, but they can actually serve their intended purpose. Hats off to you gents. Farrell R. Fox

Message: Products: 1942 Reinforced jumpsuit and 1942 Cavalry gloves. Email contact: fast and friendly. Received the info I needed about sizes, actual measurements and availability from Jonathan. Ordering: sent a fax on Tue. 07-17-07 with my wishes and cc info. Shipment: order was shipped Wed. 07-18-07 by USPS Express Mail Service, tracking number received through email. Package arrived Fri. 07-20-07 at our national airport (NL)!! and was immediately caught by our customs @&%^$$$. They seldom are in a hurry, so Thu. 07-26-07 I gave them a call. Went to Amsterdam Fri. 07-27-07 to pick up the parcel and paid the hefty import duties, $140. The price you have to pay for living in a liberal country.-) First Impression: quality of materials and workmanship is superb. Being 6"6' and 230 lbs I had some worries about the sizing before ordering. Thanks to the actual measurements provided it fits me as if I had stood in line before the desk of a quartermaster in 1942. Conclusion: this uniform proudly made in the U.S.A. will be proudly worn in Normandy next week. The uniforms sold by European vendors don't come close to this one nor to the originals. WWII Impressions is not the cheapest, you do get the quality you pay for. BTW both the uniform and the perfect gloves smell like a dead horse. Many thanks from The Hague (NL) Henk Bosman I'll be back.

Message: Hi Juan and Elvis, Just returned back from my trip to Normandy, and had a great day wearing my denims. Everyone kept asking me, where did you get the denims??!! There was a guy selling some original denims in St Mere Eglis militaria show on Saturday, its amazing how close your patterns match those of the original. The guy actually thought my outfit was the real thing! Offered me top €€€ Anyway here are a couple of photos for you files. One is outside Dead mans Corner in St Come Du Mont and the other in the fighting location of James Gavin near La Fiere Bridge just outside of St Mere Eglis. Thanks again! Rob

Message: I just received the USMC dungarees and US khaki trousers. Improvements in delivery time and item quality are acknowledged and sincerely appreciated. The overall quality of these items is superb. The khakis are nearly identical to a prewar vintage example I own. They even smell like new issue! Compared with actual examples of "army cloth", the khaki shade is as representative of WWII issue as it gets. With variances in shade among actual examples made by numerous contractors (a lineup of Navy officers and CPO in wash khakis c. 1970s would not have yielded a matching set), it would be impossible to arrive at a match that will please everyone. Although some at the "fairy forums" have quibbled about the fit of the trousers, my example was perfectly acceptable in this respect--strictly GI. Those who disagree can do what real GIs who wanted to look a little sharper did--avail themselves of the services of a competent tailor shop and have them altered to suit. The USMC dungarees (patch pocket style) are also excellent. The HBT cloth is high quality and accurate in shade for mid-war issue compared to NOS from Uncle's footlocker. Compared to examples from competitors (which in at least one case are no longer available anyway), WWII Impressions claims regarding weight and durability of the fabric are also accurate. The fit is strictly GI, just like it says at the website. If you've been eating too many jelly donuts lately, size up or break out the PT gear. I would like WWII Impressions to consider an option for a real "straight leg" which would be representative of some early issue versions. Having said this, the leg taper on my example is not nearly as pronounced as that of the USN dungarees obtained a couple of years ago. The front patch pockets are also correctly aligned with the rear pockets, not "low rider" like the USN dungaree example I have. With 1/4 inch seams all around (i.e., elimination of the 1 inch top seam on the front patch pockets) WWII Impressions could use this pattern for future USN dungaree production runs. One observation re: USMC dungarees: WWII Impressions should consider alignment of the rear patch pockets with the beltline for future runs; i.e., outboard tack higher than inboard tack. On my example, the reverse is the case--sort of. A minor point to be sure, especially if you're going to wear them with the dungaree blouse. Overall rating: Excellent! Improved quality over previous products. Well done! Regards Scott

Message: Just received the reinforced M42 jumpsuit from these guys and it's absolutely mint, from the fitting through to the treated canvas reinforcing the suit is simply fantastic - I really can't recommend them highly enough on the quality. Ordering from the UK meant I got stung by a hefty import charge, but that's the price you pay for ordering from abroad so these guys still get a 10 for price.

Message: Comment is due.In recent years I have purchased a number of products from WWII Impressions and an equal number from other well known company's that provide similar products.Being a collector my interest is to obtain a reproduction that duplicates the quality, construction and appearance of the original as close is as possible.Original examples of all WWII US military uniforms exist, some are now rare and expensive but most are readily available and are commonly found in all variations.Regardless, on occasion a reason will arise where a reproduction is required even for a collector who has no intention of ever using the product. All company's who market reproductions will regal the potential buyer with minutia ad naseum ..why our product is the best value for the price. The accuracy of the historical detail is usualy 98-100% correct in most cases in the description and reflected in the product which is actualy pretty good, looks good, and is close to the original in construction, cut and color.I would imagine most will even hold up pretty well to actual use.For a renactor they are all pretty good products. You recieve your item promptly, well packaged and it looks good almost like an original. WWII Impressions is different. There is no ..alomost..The company is in a class of it's own and has no peer. A WWII impressions product is an original made in 2006 it is not almost "like", it is ...Qaulity,cut,dye,hardware,fabric weight. The reproductions they produce are not just good they are perfect. They could fullfill any 1940-45 military contract and probably exceed standards. Garmets are not made just to look like the original they equate to or exceed the original issue. You will pay more as a rule, the company is not a bargain shop, the garmets are US made which means major overhead.Shipping is expensive but the product you recieve will be worth the expense.Good, excelent and almost are readily available but if you wan't a perfect wartime quality reproduction WWII impressions is your source.I am not affiliated in any way with WWII Impressions,I have met the owner on one occasion and he is definetly a nice guy but dosn't have any idea who I am.This is my personal opinion. Message: The Central Florida WW2 Museum purchased a WWII Impressions M1934 Army Tent in 2006 for traveling exhibition around the State of Florida. After a few events, I can say with confidence that this tent has more than lived up to expectations. The quality of the workmanship is evidenced in the detail and the positive comments from many veterans who came to call these tents home. I would recommend the WWII Impressions M1934 Army tent to anyone seeking credibility for their overall impression. I cannot say thank you enough to Mr. Gonzalez for offering such a labor intensive product. The end result is absolutely worth the paid price. Message: I ordered the USMC Boondockers last week. I must say, I am quite impressed with the quality. They are boots I could wear everyday (once I get them broken in) so I know they'll last me as a reenactor who wears them infrequently. They are the USMC design with the more narrow toe and they don't have the rivet like the Army style. True to design, which is what we want as reenactors...RIGHT?! They are easy to work with and calling in your order is handy and they are willing to help with any questions.

Message: I am a member of the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team with 20 jumps and just as many washing on Juan's un-reinforced M-42 suit, purchased back in May,2000. It has held up well under extreme use and still presses up well enough to be worn for "stepping out". It is very tough, and now has just enough fade that at their recent reunion, a member of E/506 commented that the suit looked "just right, like mine used to look".

Juan, bar none, produces the best reproductions on the market which is why his uniforms were the ONLY WW2 reproduction uniforms to be selected to go into the displays in the new National Museum of the Marine Corps. WW2 Impressions is the only Company that asks Marine Corps historians to review his product before it goes into production. Truly a class act, in every sense of the word.

Message: Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez, Today I received my USMC boondockers, size 9 1/2EE. They fit EXCELLENT!! Thank you so much for being patient with me as far as the problems I had regarding the size. I was amazed that the correct size is the same boot size I wore when I went into the Marine Corps in 1978. Because of all the foreign "junk shoes" I was confused about the size. Right now, for example I am wearing a pair of 11 1/2EE civilian shoes and they fit good like the boondockers. The last pair of boots I wore (combat boots) when I retired were size 11EE. The varience in sizes on the foreign junk is just plain stupid. I am so happy with the boondockers, even more so as they are made in America. I can assure you that I will be ordering another pair from you in the future when the ones I just received start to wear out. Once again, thanks for all of your assistance. Semper Fi, Robert

Message: US Navy Dungaree shirts did not meet expectations or quality claims proferred by this vendor. Recently received two shirts, both irregular in terms of stitching quality (missed stitches, visible oversewing on outer collar, puckered seams after washing). Returned one shirt for replacement last week and have yet to receive it. The WWI Impressions shirts cost less than similar items offered by Eastman, but Eastman shirts are better quality. If you're tempted by the lower price, I encourage prospective buyers to look the garments over carefully before accepting them or wahsing them. IMO, WWII Impressions needs to do a better job of fulfilling customer expectations and its stated commitment to quality with these garments. Merely appealing to 'Made in US' sentiment doesn't cut it in today's marketplace.

Rebuttal from Vendor
Message: Of the two shirts shipped, one was returned for a refund, which we happily complied. We did however advise the customer that the chambray shirts we sell match the original shirt that we had as a sample. It was an original shirt and it also had puckers and such as described by the customer. But we do attempt to make improvements on quality where possible without compromising authenticity.

I have compared it to an original 41 and I would say it is about as close as possible. I do plan on ordering other items. The jacket arrived a few days after I placed the order. They DO respond to your emails and let you know if items are in stock (to limit wait time). My ony suggestion would be including shipping costs on the online ordering, but that is only a monir concern. They are a recommended supplier...

Message: Ordered paratroop jacket (48R) in October...received in mid-December. The garment was much too small. Returned at my cost and told I would have a new (52R) in three weeks...finally received in mid-March. I was excited to have so I wore though still tight in shoulders and chest. After one washing per instructions the jacket was unwearable. I e-mailed Juan to relate the problem and he wrote back saying the tightness was an "authentic flaw". He offered 5% off my next purchase...theoretically he owed me nothing since I washed the jacket but I would have hoped they would either describe the "flaw" a lot better or stand behind the product if there was a problem. My father is wearing the 52R. It fits him perfectly...he's a 40-42...I won't be collecting my 5%.

Rebuttal from Vendor
Message: We do stand behind our products! In our experience, the paratrooper jackets can sometimes fit someone right on size or within one or two sizes up from their measured chest size. Without having seen Mr. Kelly in person I cannot comment about why a two size increase would not suffice. Nevertheless, we always recommend that customers try on the jacket BEFORE washing to mitigate concerns about shrinkage.

Message: WWII Impressions have by far the best run of M42 Jumpsuits on the market (their new run that is). Fellas, you no longer have to hesitate with these like you did with the last one because of the color, these new suits are straight up KHAKI. They have that golden brown color that matches originals. Hell, for reference, look at the photo of the un-reinforced jumpsuit on the manequin on their website, and THAT is the color you get, except it's a little darker with the brown. The weight is perfect, and the cut is amazing. They size it like WWII garments, going by chest and waist size. ATF goes by small, medium, and large...not accurate at all. ATF's material is very lightweight, compareable to pajamas. Another reason why I switched to WWII Imps is the fact that the ATF trouser cargo pockets are so small, you can say they're barely bigger than the lower bellow pockets on your jacket (yes, they're that small). With my ATF's, I could barely fit 2 K rations in the trouser pocket, and even then they would smush together, ruining the box at the end of the event. With WWII Impressions, you can easily fit all 3 k ration boxes in the trouser pocket, with room to spare.

Mr. McCrea did order in Sept of 2000 and we shipped out a USMC set soon thereafter. 6 months later (May of 2001) we received an email, not a phone call, requesting the exchange. Unfortunately, due to the exorbitant length of time since the purchase we could not honor the exchange, regardless of how new the item may be. This is just not done in business. Message: WWII Impressions produce top quality faithful reproductions of USMC WW2 period uniforms. I have sampled some of the contemporary alternatives out there today, and I conclude that this company is the leader in accuracy and customer service. One aspect of their USMC HBT utilities are the texture, weight and color of the material. When you inspect the cloth up close, there are no 'fussies' and fibres loose on the surface of the cloth. The HBT weave is that tight! Therefore, this is not recycled / reprocessed fibres. I am a happy camper and want to fill out my collection with Juan's gear!

Pictures would be available if requested. I turned it inside out to wash (no detergent) it in a machine on gentle, and hung dry it, and it has faded really bad. Message: Just received a pair of U.S.M.C. boondockers from Juan G.. WOW! Nice boots. I had purchased a U.S.M.C. camo jacket and a few pcs. of gear, a few months ago, and was also happy. Staff is also very freindly, which is something I don't always find with some mail order places.

Message: I recently purchaseed WWII Impressions reproduction Tanker Jacket.. I'm very satisfied with the craftmanship.. Color OD#3 is exact, authentic zipper and lining, the fit(true to size) is excellent. I've collected WWII memorabilia for years including color photos and original examples and this jacket is right on target. Gen. George S.Patton Junior would approve! AAA+

Message: In light of seeing some of the most recent reviews on WWII Impressions I feel compelled to submit mine. In the last few months I have placed a few orders with WWII Impressions. I order a EM wool shirt, wool pants, low quarter boots, a garrison cap, a couple of belts and some other items. All Items were very high quality and the staff was very friendly. My packages arrived within 2-3 days of my order and I have absolutely no complaints. Keep up the good work guys.

Message: I ordered an M1943 jacket. Paid up front in advance. Was told they were "being worked on". January 2000. March 2000 - nothing. May 2000 - nothing. July 2000 - Nothing. Finally made contact August 2000. Jackets were still not ready(???!!!!) I asked for other merchandise instead for my 8 month previously cashed payment. Since the few things I took in stead, were not what I had my heart set on - I breifly looked them over & shelved them.BIG MISTAKE. Months later, I looked them over. 5 Cell Thompson Pouch - Defective, Magazines only fit in 4 cells, because of crooked stitching. Helmet Camo - seem was ripped. Pair of Low Quarter Boots - right cap-toe malformed, looked crushed & leather was very thin. I have heard this called the "FANTASY SIGHT" because supposedly they dont have half the stuff on hand, that they advertise. Hey, I cant say for sure - but I tend to agree......

Rebuttal from Vendor
Message: Thanks for your comments. Many of our new styles take an extremely long time to develop due to production delays and the acquisition of raw materials to do the job right. This was very much the case with our M43 Jackets. We could have easily made jackets out of materials that are "Just Okay" like our competitors do, but we knew that this will not satisfy our customers. We, and they, wanted excellence and that is why we went the extra mile to make them right. They finally did arrive late in 2002 and we were jubilant to see their popularity. We have subsequently sold out and are making more, and they should be arriving shortly. In situations such as this we always try to keep our customers who have sent us advance payments briefed of developments. In many cases we will actually refund money or negotiate substitutions for other merchandise when delays are lengthy. No company is perfect and we suffer from production flaws just like any other vendor. We try to identify and segregate flawed products in advance, but some items slip through the cracks. Anything that is defective is always sought to have returned whenever we know about it. Without feedback from our customers we cannot extend complete customer service. Sir, you may call me anytime so that we can try to correct these mistakes.

Message: Purchased a shirt which was marked 18-36, turned out to be 17-30. When contacted, company stated we only have one sleeve length for all our shirts. Suggested I "BUY" more material from them and redo sleeves. Don't think so, sold to a smaller guy. For $95 Buy a "What price Glory shirt" better quality assured fit.

Message: I purchased my HBT's through these guys. The quality is topnotch and shipping time was reasonable as is the price on their HBT Set. The only thing I would caution is that their pants run small (I ordered a 44 so that I could wear my wool pants under them. They fit like a 42.)
